Last Wednesday was quite possibly the wettest, most miserable day of the year so far but all that seemed a world away when I stepped into the Oasis showroom to view their SS14 collection.
The first pieces I saw, and fell in love with, were the pretty pastels and citrus prints. The world looks a little grey at the moment but these separates really made me excited for warmer temperatures and bare legs. I'm not normally an Oasis customer, I own a few bits but I often find their pieces are a little to dressy or 'going out' for me but there were a number of pieces I saw at the press preview that really caught my eye, namely the shorts and clashing top below. I think this same-print-different-colour look is going to be a staple in my wardrobe this summer. So pretty, yes please.
Another colour palette that caught my eye was the delicious blue. Marble print jacquard, denim and blue leather all feature heavily and are perfect for those days when coral won't cut it.
Other colours and patterns included tropical and aviary prints, summer knitwear and a little sports luxe for good measure.
Overall I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. There are some great pieces for casual, work and occasion wear that their regulars will adore and there are some trend driven pieces in great colours that will appeal to new customers.
I really hope all the key looks arrive on Irish shores and that we get the weather we need to pull off these looks. If not, Spain's only a quick flight away...
